Sparsely populated and Europe's largest vegetated shingle split with steep pebbly banks.
Anglers and bird watchers are more common than families. The RSPB maintains a reserve with hides.
Dogs permitted on Dungeness Point but NOT on the RSPB reserve.
Be very careful the waters are treacherous.
At the railway station you have a free parking, cafe and toilets just 5 minutes away. No facilities exist at Dungeness Point itself.

I lived and visited here at various times from 1966 until 2013. The beach at Greatstone is really wonderful. Unfortunately it is almost always freezing cold and windy.Rating:
